Itinerary

Day 1

Pick from airport and transfer to hotel.

This will be your day of arrival.
We shall be waiting for you at Entebbe International Airport, Our guide will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala for an overnight stay

Day 2

Murchison Falls National Park via Rhino sanctuary

Depart Kampala towards north of Uganda. Have a stop-over at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to view Rhino, animals that became extinct in the early 1980s due to excessive poaching. This is a breeding programme for the Rhinos. You’ll have a nature walk, and spend a few hours with these gentle giants, in company of an experienced ranger.
Proceed to Murchison Falls National park, through a plateau covered in green and typical African settlements. Expect to meet some primates (baboons, Colobus and Vervet Monkeys), butterflies and birds.

Day 3

Murchison Falls Game Drive, Boat Cruise and Hiking

Wake up to the sounds of birds and African wild fresh air. Have early morning breakfast and set off for morning game drive in the park. This is heartbeat of a typical African animal kingdom – more like a storybook animal kingdom. You will treat your eyes to hundreds of thousands of Kobs, elephants, giraffe, lions, buffalos, leopards, hyenas, hippos, crocodiles, birds and so much more. All these live together peacefully (predators?) in the beautiful plains you have never seen before!
Later in the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise on the Nile towards the base of the Murchison Waterfall, a point where River Nile plunges into a 4 meter wide crevice, as it falls 43 meters down to produce a thunderous sound in front of you. You can spend a day, and a lifetime just enjoying this sight of the Nile without ever getting tired. In the vicinity are birds fishing and singing with butterflies enjoying the breeze and thirsty wild animals taking a drink. After the boat safari you will hike to the top of the falls. Quite challenging physically but the reward is incomparable! You’ll have a wonderful view and fantastic photo opportunities, and a story to share with your friends back home!

Day 4

Connect from Murchison to Kibale Forest National Park

Have early morning breakfast and go for an 8 hour ride to the South west of Uganda. The journey is insanely scenic, passing through beautiful rift valley plains, natural tropical rainforests, tea plantations and settlements of the people who battled fiercely with the British colonialists for nearly 30 years! You’ll have packed lunch which you will enjoy on the way. Spend the late afternoon relaxing and enjoying a lovely view of the Kibale forest and its wildlife.

Day 5

Chimpanzee tracking And nature walk

Welcome to the Monkey City! 
Kibale Forest National Park boasts the highest number of primate species in the world, including the chimpanzees. Your day will start with early morning breakfast and briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority Rangers. In company of an experienced ranger, proceed to the depth of this natural tropical rainforest in search of our closest relative still living in the wild. Once you locate the chimpanzees you will have a full hour of eye-to-eye contact with them. But since they are wild animals, we can never guarantee you to see them and might have to settle with hearing their hoots and hollers.
After the lunch break, we shall proceed to Bigodi community for a walk through a community wetland. This wetland represents a remarkable example of the role of communities in conservation efforts.  The wetland supports the entire community and is managed entirely by the local people. It offers over 200 bird species, varieties of butterflies and primates. You’ll enjoy all of this, and will have a chance to plant a tree which will be named after you! Return to lodge for overnight stay.

Day 6

Semliki National Park

This trip begins at 9:00am with a pick-up at your hotel and  drive through the western rift valley approximately 88k to Semliki National Park where we will pay the entrance fee and receive a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority Park Rangers. We will first explore the “female” hot springs, then walk through the forest to the larger “male” hot springs all while enjoying wild life and learning more about the park.

Day 7

Nyakasura Hill Hiking Experience

When you think of an extraordinary that blends breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural experiences, and exhilarating physical activity, have you considered the remarkable adventure to Hike through Nyakasura Hills? This hill offers nature lovers and adventure seekers an immersive journey into one of Uganda’s most scenic and lesser-explored mountain hiking destinations. With its rolling green hills, panoramic views, and vibrant local culture. You later be transferred to Queen Elizabeth national park for your overnight stay

Day 8

Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will have a morning game drive in the Kasenyi section of the park where we expect sights of lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, and African elephants, lots of Uganda Kobs, herds of cape buffaloes, bush backs, water backs and many others.
In the afternoon, after lunch, you will proceed for an afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel, connecting lakes Edward and George. The channel is known to have the largest hippo population in the world.  Here you also encounter with a lot of bird species like the saddle billed stocks, African fish eagles, lesser flamingos, open billed stocks, pied king fisher, malachite king fishers, red billed ox peackers ( ridding on elephants and buffaloes looking for ticks) wild animals such as elephants, buffaloes and dozens of schools of hippos drinking water, others are cooling off, and some busking on the banks of the channel
. Return to the lodge for an overnight

Day 9

Tree Climbing lions in Ishasha sector and Salt Mining tour

After early breakfast, you will head out to Ishasha sector for tree climbing lions we will find  waiting to pounce onto the surrounding  kobs that they enjoy most. You will later proceed to lake Katwe area and be taken through how salt mining is done. You will later head to your lodge in Katunguru gate area for your overnight stay 

Day 10

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is located in South western of Uganda on the edge of the rift valley. The park is a home to the mountain gorillas with half of the world’s population with 350 species of birds and 400 species of plants. The park also provides shelter to 120 mammals which include several primate species such as baboons, Chimpanzees as well as forest elephants.
You will arrive at your destination in time for lunch and relaxing in the afternoon.

Day 11

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park

Have an early morning breakfast, after which you will get to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest information Centre for briefing. You will then set off into this dense tropical rain forest, hilly and soggy, to track the mountain gorillas. It’s a fairly tough walk but one you’ll never forget – the sight of these giant apes as they feed, play and relax is extremely amazing. Besides the gorillas, our close relatives still in the wild, you will encounter hundreds of bird species, small mammals, primates and lots of plant life. Trekking takes from 3-10 hours therefore; you will have packed lunch when leaving the hotel.
Late in the afternoon, take a community walk to witness the local traditional cultures for Batwa pygmies and see for yourself the impact of gorilla tourism in the local community.

Day 12

Lake Bunyonyi,

After breakfast, you will head to ake Bunyonyi, uganda’s deepest crater lake and relax at the hotel or choose swim or have a community walk.
Journey-4 hours.

Day 13

Boat trip to Punishment Island

Early, morning, you will have a boat trip to island, and visit the community hospital where we shall engage in a community support, proceed to the punishment island and then head up for the zip lining challenge after which you will have lunch at the lodge and relax in the evening enjoying the sun set views.

Day 14

Transfer to Kigali- Rwanda

After your breakfast, you will be transfer to Kigali city for your relaxation her your engange in the Rwanda’s wildlife and cultural experience.

Day 15

Pickup from Kigali and Transfer to Akagera – Morning Game drive – Afternoon boat ride

Wake up early from your hotel or residence in Kigali and have breakfast as you wait for a driver from Mission Africa Safaris. The driver will brief you about the tour and let you know what to expect. After the briefing, the driver will start the 2-hour journey to Akagera National Park. Expect to pass through beautiful countryside with amazing hills. Once you arrive at the southern gate of the park, the driver will take you for hotel check-in and registration from the park offices. You will then proceed for the morning game drive with a park Guide. You should expect to see Zebras, Masai Giraffe, leopards, elephants, lions, buffaloes, rhinos and antelopes. The game drive will not be so long because you need to get back to your hotel for lunch as you prepare for the afternoon boat cruise.
The boat cruise on Lake Ihema is excellent for viewing birds, crocodiles, hippos and also land animals drinking on the shores. Among the bird species to look out for are the Shoebill Stork, kingfishers, fish eagles and cormorants. The boat cruise lasts between 2 to 3 hours after which you will be taken back to your hotel for relaxation, refreshment and dinner.

Day 16

Second Game drive

Wake up early, shower and take breakfast. The Driver will pick you up early to pick the park Guide at the offices. The park Guide will once again help with locating the best places to find the mammals. The game drive on day 2 will be much longer since there will be more time and no activity in the afternoon. It starts from the southern gate of the park all the way to the northern section of the park. This could go on for 6 hours with most of the time spent at the Kilala plains, the Mutumba hills, the “hippo beach”, the vast swamps and along the lake Ihema. This particular area has the greatest concentration of wildlife. In case you missed any of the animals on the first day, this is the time to see them. Expect to see lions, buffaloes, Kobs, hippos, Giraffes, Elephants and all kinds of antelopes with the help of the park Guide.
Akagera National Park offers Over 500 species  of bird species that have been recorded in the park including lesser kestrel, papyrus gonoleks and shoebill stork. The scenery in the park is great and we know you will enjoy the African wilderness, the savannah grasslands, woodlands, bushes and acacia thickets. After seeing most of the park animals, you will head back to the hotel for checkout. As you head to Nyungwe National Park

Day 17

Nyungwe National Park

The Driver will  start the journey to Nyungwe forest but with a stopover at the museum in Butare. This Museum is one of the best places to learn about the cultural heritage of the people of Rwanda. You will have an opportunity to buy local crafts and souvenirs. If time permits, you can also stop at the Kamegeli Rock and the palace of the Nyanza King Palace Lunch will be at Huye. After that, you will continue the journey through beautiful Rwanda countryside. You will know why Rwanda is referred to as a land of a thousand hills.
Once you arrive at your hotel, you will have lunch and then be taken to the Uwinka visitors center to start hiking along the Igishigishigi trail which leads to the canopy walkway. While at the Igishigishigi trail, you will spot several species of trees, birds and primates for about thirty minutes. You will then step into the canopy walkway for even more amazing views of the forest. The walkway is a 60 meters suspended metallic bridge that is built on top of the trees. It offers an aerial view of the forest and its creatures like birds, colobus monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys, baboons and countless species of plants. After the canopy walk, you will go and relax by the waterfalls.  The canopy walk takes about 2 hours depending on your pace or that of your group.

Day 18

Chimpanzee trekking

You should wake up early a take your breakfast as you prepare for an adventurous day tracking the primates. Chimpanzee trekking starts at 5 am. The reason why the activity starts early is because meeting the primates is not guaranteed.  Starting early increases your chances of finding the primates.  The Driver will take you to the park offices and visitor center in Uwinka for briefing and meeting the park Rangers who will be leading you into the forests. The rangers will brief you about the rules and requirements for chimpanzee trekking. If there are many travelers booked for the day, you will be divided into two groups – One will start the trek from the Uwinka Visitor Centre and the other from the Cyamudongo area. There are about 500 chimpanzees in Nyungwe forest. As you enter into the forest, you will be welcomed by beautiful jungle noises of birds, primates and insects.

Day 19

Scenic driver back to Kigali Capital city

The drive from Kigali to Nyungwe Forest National Park takes approximately 5 to 6 hours and is a visual delight, showcasing Rwanda's iconic “land of a thousand hills” charm.

Day 20

Kigali city tour

You will vist the Kigali genocide memorial. The experience usually takes an hour and unveils the story of Rwanda within the 1990's. You will be showed the different photos and documents as well as the graves of 250,000 people that were killed in the process.
You will also visit the presidential museum which was home to two former presidents of Rwanda. You will be taken through the history of the place. You learn about what happened at the start of the genocide and other interesting things.
The Kandt house or museum of natural history is not to be missed since it unveils the history of the city. You will find out from here why it is called Kigali and how it has evolved.
A visit to the conventional centre is worth taking. The centre is one of the spectacular grandeurs of the city and has hosted many national and international events.
You will also passby the Kimironko market where you will see people that are lively while making business. While here, you will get a chance to buy some artifacts and other things as your need may be.
After this Kigali city tour, you will taken back to your hotel or place of stay.

Day 21

Transfer to Kigali international airport for your flight back home

Your will check out for your lodge and be transfer to Kigali international airport for flight back home
